A health care think tank has put out a list of the top hospitals in the country, and two Pennsylvania hospitals<\/a>\u00a0made the top 10.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n The Lown Institute<\/a> is an independent think tank\u00a0with\u00a0a goal of\u00a0advocating bold ideas for a just and caring system for health\u00a0\n<\/p>\n It released the\u00a02026\u00a0Lown\u00a0Hospitals Index \u2018Honor Roll\u2019\u00a0on Tuesday,\u00a0recognizing\u00a0123 institutions that achieved top ratings on health equity<\/a>, value of care<\/a>, and patient outcomes<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0St Luke\u2019s Hospital \u2013 Easton Campus<\/a>\u00a0came in at number eight of the national list.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Frick Hospital<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Mount Pleasant<\/a>\u00a0came in at number nine.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n A total of 12 Pennsylvania hospitals made the list\u00a0\u2013 the most\u00a0of\u00a0any state. Others included\u00a0Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center (#59), St. Luke\u2019s University Hospital \u2013 Bethlehem Campus (#26), St. Luke\u2019s Hospital \u2013 Upper Bucks Campus\u00a0(#16)\u00a0and Grand View Hospital (#47.)\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWith financial pressures forcing painful choices on many hospitals, those on the\u00a0Lown\u00a0Honor Roll have found ways to put their patients and communities first,\u201d said Vikas Saini, president of the\u00a0Lown\u00a0Institute. \u201cThese hospitals are staying true to their mission when it matters most, and in healthcare, that\u2019s everything.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n The\u00a0Lown\u00a0Index examined publicly available data for more than 2,700 acute care hospitals, including: traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage claims; Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services datasets on patient safety, patient experience, and hospital costs; Internal Revenue Service Form 990; and other sources.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n A total of\u00a02,718 hospitals were evaluated against measures of equity,\u00a0values\u00a0and outcomes to\u00a0determine\u00a0the rankings.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n The complete honor roll for 2026:\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge (Oak Ridge, Tenn.)\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Stillwater Medical Center (Stillwater, Okla.)\u00a0\n<\/p>\n University Health (San Antonio, Texas)\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee (Muskogee, Okla.)\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Adventist Health Portland (Portland, Ore.)\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Christian Hospital Northeast (St. Louis, Mo.)\u00a0\n<\/p>\n LewisGale\u00a0Hospital Alleghany (Low Moor, Va.)\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
