As Americans prepare to mark the country\u2019s 250th anniversary<\/a> on the Fourth of July<\/a>, Scrantonians can also take pride in the important role our city played in building the nation. Scranton\u2019s coal, steel and railroads helped to shape the country during the second Industrial Revolution. Landmarks such as Steamtown National Historic Site<\/a> and architectural gems in our downtown serve as constant reminders of our contribution to the nation\u2019s story. In this spirit, we celebrate with an event that truly lives up to its name, the Scrantastic Spectacular<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\"Graphic Meet Us On the Square <\/p>\n

The Scrantastic Spectacular<\/a> will be held on Friday, July 3, on historic Courthouse Square<\/a> in Downtown Scranton<\/a>. Family-friendly activities start at 4 p.m. and local bands will perform on the Scrantastic Side Stage. The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic<\/a> will perform patriotic favorites at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Zambelli Fireworks Display.<\/p>\n

\u201cScranton Tomorrow<\/a> is proud to support this event,\u201d said Leslie Collins, president and CEO. \u201cThere\u2019s no better place to celebrate the Fourth of July than right here in downtown Scranton, surrounded by the history and community that make our city so special. Our businesses have been preparing for weeks, and they\u2019re ready to welcome everyone for a night of celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lackawanna Scrantastic Spectacular is presented by Lehigh Valley Hospital Dickson City, part of Jefferson Health. The event is sponsored in part by Scranton Tomorrow, Lackawanna County Commissioners, The City of Scranton, and Audacy Pennsylvania. The Zambelli Fireworks display is sponsored in part by Quality Roofing Express. The Kid\u2019s Zone is sponsored by PA Party Rentals.<\/p>\n
