\n\t\t\t\t\t\tAs the full closure of the Parkway East on July 10 gets closer, these final weeks will be busy for PennDOT officials.Earlier this week, PennDOT officials announced the details about a test slide planned as part of the ongoing Commercial Street Bridge project.Get the Facts: “Test slide” planned for Thursday The test slide will force the temporary one-day closure of Commercial Street, Forward Avenue and the Nine Mile Run Trail on Thursday.Starting at 6 a.m., Commercial Street and Forward Avenue will close between Whipple Street and Summerset Drive. The Nine Mile Run Trail will also close during this time.If all goes as planned, the area is expected to reopen by 4 p.m.However, the reopening will be temporary. That same area will close permanently beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 29. Commercial Street, Forward Avenue and the Nine Mile Run Trail will stay closed indefinitely until the work is completed in August.Also new this week, PennDOT officials installed a camera showing the other side of the bridge.
