{"id":227106,"date":"2026-06-24T19:18:46","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T19:18:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/227106\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T19:18:46","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T19:18:46","slug":"city-of-pittsburgh-offers-free-swimming-lessons-for-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/227106\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Pittsburgh offers free swimming lessons for kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 The City of Pittsburgh is offering free swimming lessons for kids ages 6-15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Lasting two weeks, the program by CitiParks\u2019 Aquatics Team teaches basic swimming skills and water safety.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The program runs daily, Monday to Friday, from June 29 until July 10 at all city pools. Classes typically last from 11-11:45 a.m., except for Highland Pool (10-10:45 a.m.) and Schenley Pool (12-12:45 p.m.). <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Classes are not currently scheduled at the Homewood pool. Officials say they will be offered after the pool reopens.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cWe are excited to bring back the free Learn to Swim program for our local kids,\u201d Mayor Corey O\u2019Connor said. \u201cLearning to swim is a great way to build confidence so that families can be outside, enjoy our pools and have a fun summer together.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">You can sign up by visiting your neighborhood pool with a valid ID to show city residency.
