BETHLEHEM, Pa. \u2014 A popular Lehigh Valley sweet spot is featured on PETA\u2019s \u201cNice Cream Trail,\u201d highlighting 10 shops across the state serving up delicious vegan ice cream.<\/p>\n
Vegan Treats, at 1444 Linden St. in Bethlehem, is among the trail\u2019s featured parlors, according to a news release.<\/p>\n
The Bethlehem shop rotates its tasty dairy-free soft-serve flavors twice weekly, with options including blueberry and lemon cheesecake, chocolate and peanut butter, banana cream pie, and more.<\/p>\n
Vegan Treats \u2014 which also serves vegan cakes, cookies, brownies, pies, doughnuts and other sweet treats \u2014 is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.<\/p>\n

PETA, which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is the largest animal rights organization in the world, with PETA entities totaling more than 10.4 million members and supporters globally.<\/p>\n
The organization was founded in 1980 and is dedicated to establishing and defending the rights of all animals.<\/p>\n
It operates under the principle that \u201canimals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.\u201d<\/p>\n
PETA\u2019s vegan \u201ciScream\u201d truck has traversed the country, satisfying sweet tooths far and wide by giving away thousands of decadent dairy-free delights, \u201cwhile bringing attention to the cruel separation of mother cows from their beloved calves in the dairy industry,\u201d the release states.<\/p>\n
PETA notes that with an abundance of dairy-free ice cream options available today including vegan flavors from Oatly, Breyer\u2019s, Ben & Jerry\u2019s and other brands, it\u2019s easy to opt for delicious desserts that let calves stay with their mothers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd to make the festivities even sweeter, the first Pennsylvania resident to complete the trail by visiting all 10 participating shops through August will win the cherry on top: a vegan ice cream party with PETA\u2019s famous \u201ciScream\u201d truck for themselves and up to 50 guests,\u201d the release states.<\/p>\n
Other stops on the trail include Lu & Aug\u2019s (Ardmore), Dreams Ice Cream Factory (Glenside), Honey Bear (Harrisburg), Frio Creamery (Pittsburgh), Lancaster Sweet Shoppe (Lancaster), The Main Freeze (Lansdale), Milk Jawn (Philadelphia), Scoop DeVille (Philadelphia), and Millie\u2019s Homemade Ice Cream (11 Pennsylvania locations).<\/p>\n
