{"id":227662,"date":"2026-06-25T08:35:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T08:35:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/227662\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T08:35:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T08:35:34","slug":"reporter-devan-kaney-leaves-philadelphia-network-for-bigger-mark-after-eagles-firing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/227662\/","title":{"rendered":"Reporter Devan Kaney leaves Philadelphia network &#8216;for bigger mark&#8217; after Eagles firing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It didn\u2019t take long for former Eagles sideline reporter Devan Kaney to find a new job. <\/p>\n<p>Kaney has found a job in a \u201cbigger market\u201d after being let go from 94.1 WIP Philadelphia as part of its second wave of layoffs <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/01\/sports\/devan-kaney-out-as-eagles-sideline-reporter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There were limited details on the where and when of her new role, but Kaney did mention \u201cyou can prob still catch me on Fox airwaves.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Kaney was still in a weekend anchor role at Fox 29 Philadelphia, which she continued to do <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/02\/sports\/eagles-broadcaster-devan-kaney-was-blindsided-by-abrupt-firing-it-was-naive\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">after the WIP layoff<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p>Awful Announcing reported <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/radio\/former-eagles-sideline-reporter-devan-kaney-new-job-leaving-philadelphia.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">that based on media market data<\/a>, the possibilities are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Dallas-Ft. Worth.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.79573712;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38969829\" width=\"1011\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Kaney.png\" alt=\"Eagles Sideline Reporter Devan Kaney in a 94WIP studio.\" class=\"wp-image-38969829\"  \/>Devan Kaney during a WIP hit. @SportsRadio94WIP\/YouTube<\/p>\n<p>WIP was Kaney\u2019s home since 2022, but it wasn\u2019t until 2024 that she moved to her sideline role. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/eagles\/devan-kaney-wip-eagles-philly-audacy-layoffs-20260331.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kaney told Rob Tornoe at the Philadelphia Inquirer<\/a> in March. \u201cBut as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kaney recently reposted a tweet from a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/emmcooper42\/status\/2069234411673932012\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Philadelphia X account<\/a> saying she deserved better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast week was my final sportscast at [Fox 29 Philadelphia],\u201d Kaney wrote on X.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m so excited to share what\u2019s next for me, but first I have to shoutout my incredible friends, family, and colleagues who have been so supportive over the last few months as I navigated my next career move. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cChange is never easy, but I\u2019m grateful for the people in my life who make sure I know that I am never alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38969849\" width=\"590\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/crop-38969845.jpg\" alt=\"Devan Kaney\" class=\"wp-image-38969849\"  \/>Devan Kaney on the sideline of an NFL game on her instagram.  @devankaney\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>Kaney also left the door open for a return to Philadelphia in the post, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s not goodbye, Philly, it\u2019s see ya later!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She will continue to host her Phillies podcast \u201cWerth Talking About.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It didn\u2019t take long for former Eagles sideline reporter Devan Kaney to find a new job.
