An investigation is ongoing, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, after a 9-year-old boy died this week after being involved in a drowning incident that happened at a motel pool on Saturday, June 20, 2026. <\/p>\n
According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the boy was pronounced at 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, after being taken to the hospital following the June 20, 2026 incident. <\/p>\n
The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the hotel pool at the Days Inn by Wyndham on Hill Motor Lodge Road in Pocono Township in Monroe County.<\/p>\n
At that time, the coroner’s office said, the boy was pulled from the pool and life-saving measures were administrated before the boy was taken to the hospital. <\/p>\n
However, officials said, the boy succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. <\/p>\n
Following an autopsy on Thursday, the coroner’s office said the boy’s death was caused by complications due to drowning and it has been ruled an accident.<\/p>\n
Officials did not immediately provide further details on this incident and the coroner’s office declined to provide further identifying information on the child out of respect for the boy’s family. <\/p>\n
