POCONO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 9-year-old boy from Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County died days after being pulled out of a hotel pool in Monroe County, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio.<\/p>\n
The child was pronounced dead Tuesday afternoon, Buglio said.<\/p>\n
Buglio said the cause of death is complications of drowning, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.<\/p>\n
First responders rushed to the Days Inn by Wyndham on Hill Motor Lodge Road in Pocono Township around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n
The child was rescued from the pool, and bystanders and emergency responders initiated life-saving measures before the boy was taken to a hospital, according to Buglio.<\/p>\n
Buglio said that due to the boy\u2019s age and out of respect for the family\u2019s privacy during this difficult time, the boy\u2019s identity will not be released.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains active and is being conducted by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center in cooperation with the Pocono Township Police Department and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.<\/p>\n
