(WMTV) &#8211; A Sun Prairie marching band member\u2019s wrist injury nearly ended her time with the band. Instead, her band directors found a solution.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Senior drum major Alex Reinen played tuba for three years until wrist pain made performances difficult to complete. Rather than leave the band, Reinen worked with Sound of Sun Prairie directors Matt McVeigh and Mark Davison to switch to saxophone, allowing her to continue performing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cMy third year of sound was my last year playing tuba. I had really bad wrist issues and I could barely get through the season,\u201d Reinen said. \u201cI was so worried that I would not be able to come back because I just love this group so much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Reinen and her bandmates travel to Philadelphia on July 3 for the Salute to Independence Parade, marking America\u2019s 250th birthday.
