Tyler Hardman hit two home runs and Ernesto Martinez Jr. added one to power the Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to a 6-4 win over the Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night at Victory Field in Indiana.<\/p>\n
Carlos Lagrange, the New York Yankees\u2019 No. 4 prospect who is being converted from a starter to a reliever, got the final four outs to earn his first career save. Lagrange came on with two outs in the eighth and the bases loaded. Although he threw a wild pitch that allowed a run to score, he got the final out of the inning. Then to begin the ninth, he allowed a single and hit a batter, but sandwiched strikeouts around a fly out to save the win for Dom Hamel (3-8).<\/p>\n
Hardman homered leading off the top of the second to give the RailRiders a 1-0 lead. Indianapolis tied it in the bottom of the second when two walks sandwiched around a double by Rafael Flores Jr. loaded the bases and Nick Cimillo hit a sacrifice fly to center.<\/p>\n
But in the top of the third, with one out, Yanquiel Fernandez and Garrett Martin had consecutive singles. Hardman followed with his second home run of the game out to left field to make it 4-1 RailRiders. It was Hardman\u2019s 100th career home run and his 10th career multi-homer game, the first in Triple-A.<\/p>\n
Martinez then went back-to-back with a home run to right field for a 5-1 lead. It is his 13th in 64 games this season, tying his career high that he set in 2024 in 110 games with the Biloxi Shuckers in the Milwaukee Brewers organization.<\/p>\n
Another sacrifice fly by Cimillo in the bottom of the fourth pulled the Indians within 5-2. Jonathan Ornelas\u2019 single in the top of the sixth scored Duke Ellis, who singled with two outs, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher, to give the RailRiders a 6-2 lead. Dominic Fletcher\u2019s RBI single in the bottom-half of the inning cut the Indianapolis deficit to 6-3.<\/p>\n
