Among those participating is Victoria Angelo, who arrived in Erie more than 20 years ago after fleeing conflict in Sudan. At the time, her family faced an uncertain future in a new and unfamiliar place. Today, she proudly calls Erie home and represents the resilience shared by many in the city\u2019s refugee community.<\/p>\n
Angelo will share her culture in a special way during the event, highlighting both her personal journey and the traditions that have remained an important part of her life. Her story reflects a broader narrative of perseverance, as many refugees in Erie have transitioned from survival to stability while contributing to the region\u2019s cultural fabric.<\/p>\n
Organizers say the celebration is not only about honoring those journeys, but also about fostering understanding and unity within the wider community.
