Longtime Erie resident James Duane Wallin passed away at 72, surrounded by family at his cottage in Edinboro, according to an obituary from Kloecker Funeral Home.<\/p>\n

A Cathedral Prep graduate from the Class of 1972, Jim launched several beloved local businesses, including the Kings Rook Club, which celebrates its 50th year, and Spinner McGee\u2019s, known for its unique dining experience. He also proudly carried on the legacy of Books Galore, one of Erie\u2019s oldest comic and bookstores.<\/p>\n

Beyond business, Jim was a passionate traveler who cherished road trips, detours, and storytelling. He instilled in his children the values of hard work, perseverance, and finding joy in the journey, lessons he later passed on to his six grandchildren, his greatest pride and joy.<\/p>\n

A celebration of life will be held July 18, 2026, at Flightpath Fellowship Church, followed by a gathering at the Kings Rook Club for friends and family.<\/p>\n
