ALSACE TWP., Pa. – Break out your tweed and slip on your kilt, because it’s the 20th anniversary of the Berks Celtic Festival, hosted by the Berks Irish with the Reading Liederkranz.<\/p>\n
In honor of the milestone, it’s their first ever 2-day celebration here in Alsace Township.<\/p>\n
“It’s just great, because when it’s bigger, it’s better, and you can share more in two days,” Jeff Wertz, a chairman of festival, says the goal is to share their culture. “It’s just a celebration of all Celtic heritage and showing the community what we’re all about,” said Wertz.<\/p>\n
The festival has 52 vendors this year, selling all types of Celtic wares.<\/p>\n
“It’s just a great festival with great people. Carin Stunz has been a vendor at the festival for 10 years. “Everybody’s happy and just having a good time.’<\/p>\n
She says there’s always so much to enjoy. “The entertainment is phenomenal. The food is really good,” said Wertz.<\/p>\n
And there’s tons of entertainment, from Irish step dancing to live bands.

“I love the music. I love the music here.” Carl Schupp has been coming for 10 years in his Irish best. “I love coming here. Great chance to celebrate Irish heritage, and they do a great job every year,” said Schupp.<\/p>\n
