Few new details emerged over the weekend, after Philadelphia detectives asked FBI specialists for help in processing chemicals, weapons and other suspicious items discovered inside an Olney<\/a> home with ties to at least one missing woman.<\/p>\n

Eugene Horsch, 44, was taken into custody following a traffic stop on the morning of June 19 in the area of Independence Mall, law enforcement officials have said.<\/p>\n

A park ranger noticed Horsch and a woman arguing inside a black BMW and approached the car, Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore told reporters during a briefing Friday. Horsch was allegedly carrying a fake Drug Enforcement Administration badge and a switchblade.<\/p>\n

Two guns with destroyed serial numbers were found inside the BMW, and the female passenger presented an identification card with her picture and the name of a missing person on it, according to police. She admitted the ID was fraudulent and told officers the card had been provided by Horsch.<\/p>\n

In the days after Horsch was pulled over, authorities searched his house, a twin on the 400 block of W. Chew Avenue in Olney. Vanore said they found a third gun, a stockpile of ammunition and more phony federal law enforcement credentials. Marijuana was allegedly discovered growing on one of the upper floors.<\/p>\n

Police also located chemicals, a 55-gallon drum, and hoses connected to water lines in hidden basement compartments, Vanore added.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just don\u2019t know what he\u2019s doing, if he\u2019s producing something, if he\u2019s making something, if he\u2019s irrigating something,\u201d Vanore said. \u201cWe don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Online rumors suggested that officers had found bodies, but no visible human remains were discovered, aside from urns that have been transported to the Medical Examiner\u2019s Office for evaluation, he told reporters. At least one bore the name of a family member.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI know there\u2019s a lot of things on social media and out there about what was in that house,\u201d Vanore said. \u201cWhat I\u2019m telling you is that a lot of that was not true.\u201d<\/p>\n

He described the house as having \u201cdefinitely a strange setup\u201d and said detectives would continue investigating any leads. Additional charges are expected, though none had been filed as of Sunday.<\/p>\n

Jerome Brown, Horsch\u2019s longtime attorney, told the Inquirer<\/a> that speculation about missing women tied to his client was \u201cmuch ado about nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Horsch is currently being held at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility on drug and gun charges related to the Old City car stop. His bail is set at 10% of $500,000, and an initial preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 6.<\/p>\n

He has an extensive criminal history, including multiple recent arrests. Horsch was charged in March with two counts of aggravated assault, though the case was withdrawn two months later. He was placed on probation in November 2025 after pleading guilty to possession of narcotics with intent to deliver.<\/p>\n

In 2013, Horsch was apprehended during a traffic stop in Cheltenham; law enforcement traveled to his Chew Avenue house, where they documented a marijuana growing operation and seized an estimated $1.9 million worth of drugs. He was later sentenced to four-to-six years in prison, court records show.<\/p>\n
