A Wildwood teen and a Philadelphia man were arrested and charged in connection with an assault that injured three people in North Wildwood, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The suspects have been identified as Alpacino Carrero, aged 20, and a 17-year-old boy whose name has not been released.<\/p>\n
North Wildwood police responded at about 1:15 a.m. June 22, 2026, to the area of 13th and Central\u00a0Avenues after a report of a fight in progress. <\/p>\n
At the scene, officers found three injured adults, according to authorities. The victims were taken to Cooper University\u00a0Hospital\u00a0Cape Regional. One victim was unconscious after being struck with a bottle, officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Prosecutors said the suspects initially fled the scene but were later identified and arrested following an investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Carrero was charged with second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 17-year-old was initially charged with second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to prosecutors. On June 23, authorities added charges of first-degree robbery and a second count of second-degree aggravated assault.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Under New Jersey law, a first-degree conviction carries a potential prison sentence of 10 to 20 years. Second-degree offenses are punishable by five to 10 years in prison, while third-degree offenses carry penalties of three to five years.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation\u00a0remains\u00a0active.\u00a0<\/p>\n
