{"id":231170,"date":"2026-06-29T19:16:13","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T19:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/231170\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T19:16:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T19:16:13","slug":"sheraton-philadelphia-downtown-workers-reach-tentative-agreement-for-new-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/231170\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown workers reach tentative agreement for new contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 The strike is over. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audacy.com\/kywnewsradio\/news\/local\/sheraton-philadelphia-downtown-workers-on-strike\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">After nine days<\/a>, workers at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown have reached a tentative agreement for a new contract.<\/p>\n<p>The deal brings a major boost to wages, pensions, gratuity and healthcare coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Sheraton Downtown is the largest unionized hotel in Philadelphia, represented by UNITE HERE Local 274. The union represents over 4,000 workers in the city. <\/p>\n<p>Union members will hold a ratification vote to approve a wage increase to $30 an hour for non-tipped employees by January 2028, among other benefits \u2014 an increase that would put compensation on par with the citywide standard for unionized hotels.<\/p>\n<p>If approved, the contract will be the first since the previous agreement expired in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>It will also leave the Hilton Garden Inn Center City as the last unionized hotel in the city without a contract.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 The strike is over.
