READING, Pa. – Reading welcomed two new homeowners Monday.<\/p>\n

Habitat for Humanity celebrated the completion of a duplex on Miltimore Street.<\/p>\n

New homeowners Obal and Jacqueline were given the keys to their new homes during a dedication ceremony.<\/p>\n

They both completed Habitat for Humanity’s First-Time Homeowner Program.<\/p>\n

To do that, Obal and Jacqueline spent 200 hours helping build or renovate Habitat homes.<\/p>\n

“A long time, I was renting and being displaced, and high rent in the city makes it hard for people to even save up to, you know, purchase a home. But with Habitat for Humanity and Anita’s help, I went through the program, and I’ve been in my house about half a year now and I could not be more blessed.”<\/p>\n

The new duplex is part of the Habitat for Humanity has been doing revitalizing the Buttonwood Gateway neighborhood.<\/p>\n
