The state\u2019s leading professional membership organization for accountants has and will continue to benefit in the coming years from a distinguished member of the faculty at The University of Scranton.<\/p>\n
Ashley L. Stampone, Ph.D \u201910, G\u201911, Ph.D \u201923, assistant professor of accounting, is currently serving as a vice president on the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Board of Directors. She previously served a one-year term as a vice president and is now in her second year of a two-year, at-large term that will extend her service through April 2027.<\/p>\n
Dr. Stampone was formally sworn in at PICPA\u2019s annual meeting, held May 5 at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort and Spa in Bedford County.<\/p>\n
\u201cDr. Stampone’s\u00a0appointment to the PICPA Board of Directors reflects the respect she has earned throughout the accounting profession,\u201d said Douglas M. Boyle, DBA \u201988, accounting professor and chair at the University. \u201cAs a dedicated educator, accomplished scholar and engaged professional, she consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence and service. Her contributions to the profession, our students and the University have been significant, and I am confident she will make a meaningful impact in helping guide the future of the PICPA.\u201d<\/p>\n
The PICPA Board of Directors oversees the organization\u2019s property and affairs. It includes officers and directors who advance the organization\u2019s mission of serving, supporting and advocating for the profession while serving as a valuable resource to its nearly 18,000 members.<\/p>\n
Dr. Stampone, who joined in the University in 2016, is a five-time recipient of the Kania School of Management\u2019s Teacher of the Year award, presented by KSOM students.
