BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) — Police say a female driver lost control and slammed her car into a Petco store in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the 2300 block of Street Road.<\/p>\n
The impact of the crash injured a customer inside the store.<\/p>\n
That person suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The driver was not hurt in the crash.<\/p>\n
Police say the crash broke open a cricket cage and crickets got out and were everywhere inside the store.<\/p>\n
L & I officials were called to the scene to check the stability of the building.<\/p>\n
Shattered glass and crumbled cinder-blocks were left on the sidewalk.<\/p>\n
At the time of the crash a local rescue organization was holding an adoption event inside the store.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, there were no animals injured.<\/p>\n
The rescue group and manager of the Petco store had no comments for Action News.<\/p>\n
The store closed for the rest of the day and caution tape was placed outside the building.<\/p>\n
The crash remains under investigation.
