{"id":232994,"date":"2026-07-01T17:30:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T17:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/232994\/"},"modified":"2026-07-01T17:30:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-01T17:30:09","slug":"state-trooper-hit-killed-by-commercial-vehicle-along-interstate-in-eastern-pennsylvania-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/232994\/","title":{"rendered":"State trooper hit, killed by commercial vehicle along interstate in Eastern Pennsylvania \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">CASS TOWNSHIP, Pa. \u2014 A Pennsylvania state trooper was hit and killed by a commercial vehicle along a highway in Schuylkill County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">State police said the trooper was conducting a commercial vehicle safety inspection on Wednesday morning along I-81 in Cass Township.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">While inspecting the vehicle, state police said the trooper was hit by another passing commercial vehicle. After hitting the trooper, the same vehicle struck the vehicle that was being inspected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The vehicle that hit the trooper and the other commercial vehicle then caught fire.
