LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 Multiple Midstate counties are under a drought warning as the region is hit with a heat wave bringing temperatures around 100 degrees.<\/p>\n
A map of Pennsylvania drought statuses<\/a> shows other Midstate counties such as Lebanon, Lancaster, Franklin, Fulton and Cumberland are under a warning. Adams, York and Dauphin counties are under a drought watch.<\/p>\n Due to the warning, the City of Lebanon Authority is asking its customers, including daycares, schools, and other educational institutions, to voluntarily reduce water usage by 10 to 15% by doing the following:<\/p>\n No outside use of water (except for newly seeded areas)<\/p>\n Checking for indoor and outdoor household leaks<\/p>\n Reducing the number of toilet flushes<\/p>\n Turning off water while brushing teeth<\/p>\n Running dishwashers and washing machines with only full loads<\/p>\n Using paper cups and plates whenever possible<\/p>\n Any establishment serving food should not serve water unless requested<\/p>\n Reducing water usage by that much would be about 13 to 20 gallons of water per day.<\/p>\n All customers, municipalities, and institutions are urged by the City of Lebanon Authority to prepare a contingency plan in case of a drought emergency.<\/p>\n
