ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Allentown Planning Commission has scheduled a special meeting to consider plans for a data center in the southern end of the city.<\/p>\n
Those plans call for converting an existing warehouse at 2401 W. Emaus Ave. into a data center. The planning commission was scheduled to take up the proposal at a meeting nearly a month ago, but the review was postponed at the applicant’s request.<\/p>\n
The 224,000 square-foot warehouse currently does not have a tenant. The application seeks to put a 23,342 square-foot addition on the property.<\/p>\n
The applicant listed on the meeting agenda is Quantm Group, LLC.<\/p>\n
Brian Hite, an assistant planner for the city of Allentown, told 69 News that there have been no revised plans submitted to the city since the postponement last month.<\/p>\n
The special meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 in Allentown City Council chambers at 435 Hamilton St.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The planning commission will hold its regular meeting two days before that, on July 14, where it will consider proposed changes to the city’s new data center ordinance.<\/p>\n
