(KOAM) &#8212; A judge sentenced an Erie man to three years for sexual exploitation of a child.<\/p>\n<p>The judge sentenced Peter Hawkinson to 36 months of community corrections for sexual exploitation of a child.<\/p>\n<p>In April, Hawkinson pleaded &#8216;no contest&#8217; to the crimes. The court accepted his plea and found him guilty of one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child. The remaining counts two through 25 were dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Case Background<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"230\" data-end=\"460\">Peter Hawkinson, 42, was taken into custody on July 30, 2025, around 7:40 a.m. at a residence at the 2200th block of Ottawa Road in Neosho County. He was arrested on 24 counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of violating Kansas offender registration laws.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"230\" data-end=\"460\">The crimes happened on March 25, 2025, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"462\" data-end=\"564\">The arrest followed a search warrant carried out by KBI agents and the Neosho County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"713\">Police say the investigation began in May after the KBI\u2019s Child Victims Unit received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"832\">Hawkinson was booked into the Neosho County Jail.<\/p>\n<p>COPYRIGHT 2025 BY KOAM NEWS NOW.
