TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The search for a missing Toledo girl in Lake Erie has become a recovery mission, as officials doubt she will be found alive.<\/p>\n

Toledo Fire & Rescue Chief Allison Armstrong said Friday that the Coast Guard helicopter search had been called off, while dive teams continued their search for 11-year-old Angelique Cunningham. <\/p>\n

Angelique was out on the boat Wednesday night into early Thursday morning when the accident occurred. A man she was boating with was found dead in the water and a woman on board was able to make it to shore.<\/p>\n

The boat the three were in was recovered near West Sister Island.<\/p>\n

The man\u2019s body was found outside of Meinke Marina about a mile out from shore, authorities told the 13 Action News I-TEAM. His identity hasn\u2019t been released yet. A boater found the body around 9:50 a.m. on July 2 and called 911.<\/p>\n

The woman who was on board was questioned by authorities, the Lucas County Sheriff\u2019s Office said. She was able to swim to shore. LCSO said the woman was the child\u2019s babysitter.<\/p>\n

LCSO Captain Bobby Chromik was asked whether anyone is considered a suspect in the case at this time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think anybody\u2019s being considered a suspect, per se. I think right now what we\u2019re looking at is this is probably a horrific accident in terms of what happened to this gentleman,\u201d Chromik said. \u201cBut our primary focus right now is to find the 11-year-old to make sure she\u2019s safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Initially, crews from TFRD, LCSO, the Coast Guard, Oregon Fire, ODNR and Jerusalem Township Fire were all part of the response on Thursday.<\/p>\n

As first responders began working to recover the man\u2019s body, authorities learned there might be a missing person related to the case and that\u2019s when agencies began working together on a unified command structure to try and find Angelique.<\/p>\n

The three went out for a recreational boat ride Wednesday night, Chromik said.<\/p>\n
