\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Joanne (Deutsch) Burke, 92, formerly of Carbondale passed peacefully on June 26, 2026 with most of her children by her side. Joanne was a loving woman who will be fondly remembered by all.<\/p>\n
\nJoanne was born in Carbondale on March 1, 1934. She married John Francis Burke in August of 1952. The couple relocated to California, where they started their family and lived for 9 years before returning to Carbondale.<\/p>\n
\nAfter her husband\u2019s passing in 1982, Joanne lived in Nicholson with her children. Her family fondly remembers pool parties and holidays at Grandma\u2019s house.<\/p>\n
\nJoanne was quick-witted, funny, and never hesitated to tease you. She is remembered fondly for her wry smile and endless reservoir of zingers. She loved to spend time with family and friends, and anyone was welcome to visit \u2013 especially if they came bearing sweet treats.<\/p>\n
\nThose who knew Joanne were always comforted by her presence and advice. She raised a close-knit and fun-loving family who loved her very much. She enjoyed romance books and Hallmark movies. She loved tea and chocolate and enjoyed singing along with her favorite music.<\/p>\n
\nJoanne was predeceased by her parents and brother, as well as her husband John and grandson Sean Burke. Joanne is survived by 11 children: Judy Andidora; George Burke; Kathleen Sikorski; Thomas Burke; Edward Burke; Ann Sweeney; Mary Burke; Joseph Burke; Patricia Herrin; Pamela Thomas; and William Burke; as well as 24 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
\nFriends may call at Litwin Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville on Sunday July 5, 2026 from 6 to 8pm.<\/p>\n
