He dreaded English class, avoided books whenever he could and only started picking them up because his job demanded it. Then, in 2008 during his battle with cancer, he discovered Danielle Steel\u2019s romance novels and never turned back.<\/p>\n<p>Now, 18 years later, he has written 10 books spanning multiple genres. He said he\u2019s very comfortable writing in different styles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not so much the different genres,\u201d Waters said. \u201cIt\u2019s more give me a picture, I\u2019ll write a story.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dick Waters, a Sun City resident, hated to read.
