Philadelphia’s final World Cup match Saturday will be played amid dangerously hot temperatures.<\/p>\n
At 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, France will face Paraguay at the Lincoln Financial Field, also known as the Philadelphia Stadium.<\/p>\n
To mark Independence Day and the nation\u2019s 250th\u00a0anniversary, FIFA will celebrate the holiday with special pre-game programming at Saturday’s game.<\/p>\n
Philadelphia Stadium pre-match highlights will include the following:<\/p>\n
US national-anthem performance by Tony Award winner\u00a0Idina Menzel<\/p>\n
Special rendition of\u00a0America the Beautiful\u00a0by the\u00a0Philadelphia Boys Choir &\u00a0Chorale<\/p>\n
Musical performance by\u00a0The Roots, the multiple Grammy Award-winning hip-hop band founded in Philadelphia<\/p>\n
Ceremonial moment featuring\u00a0Miss Pennsylvania,\u00a0Stephanie Skinner<\/p>\n
Tifo card display for audience members<\/p>\n
Flyover by the VFA-11 and VFA-81 squadrons from the Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach\u00a0<\/p>\n
Additional ceremonial elements, including a field cover, pyrotechnics and themed video-board signage<\/p>\n
The action in Philadelphia will also feature half-time entertainment from another Grammy Award winner,\u00a0DJ Jazzy Jeff.<\/p>\n
In a release, FIFA said it is committed to protecting the health and safety of all players, referees, fans,\u00a0volunteers\u00a0and staff through a tiered heat mitigation model.\u00a0In collaboration with the City of Philadelphia, medical experts and emergency authorities,\u00a0FIFA shared the following steps it is taking to protect everyone amid the intense heat:<\/p>\n
Misting fans will be available on\u00a011th\u00a0Street\u00a0as fans approach the stadium.\u00a0Additionally,\u00a0cooling tents with will be available to fans within the stadium footprint at the Stadium Fan Experience.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
All fans will be allowed to bring in one, soft, plastic, 20 ounces (590ml), factory-sealed disposable water bottle\u00a0into Philadelphia Stadium (or any FIFA World Cup 2026 match in the US and Canada).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Water fountains at Philadelphia Stadium are found on the concourse behind Sections 103, 118, 122, C3, C19, C24, C38, 204 and 222.<\/p>\n
