\n\t\t\t\t\t\tAt approximately 12:00 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched to the 5900 block of Penn Avenue for reports of a large crowd of juveniles fighting and trying to gain access to an event space.Arriving officers met the crowd of approximately 150 juveniles. Repeated orders were given for the crowd to disperse. Those orders were largely ignored and the crowd instead began to throw fireworks amongst themselves and at nearby officer vehicles.Units from across the city responded to help clear the crowd. Penn Avenue was closed for several blocks as officers secured the area. The crowd eventually dissipated at approximately 1:00 a.m. and the street reopened at approximately 1:15 a.m. to all traffic.One adult male was arrested and transported to the Allegheny County Jail. Exact charges are forthcoming.A juvenile male was detained and transported to a local hospital for medical clearance.
