{"id":236174,"date":"2026-07-05T18:14:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T18:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/236174\/"},"modified":"2026-07-05T18:14:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T18:14:07","slug":"ppl-thousands-remain-without-power-throughout-nepa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/236174\/","title":{"rendered":"PPL: Thousands remain without power throughout NEPA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PPL Electric Utilities restored power to more than 116,700 customers, as of 12:16 p.m. Sunday, after severe weather impacted the region Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>As of 1:40 p.m., more than 102,400 customers remained without power, according to PPL\u2019s Outage Map.<\/p>\n<p>Crews continue to work around the clock to repair extensive damage and restore power, company officials added.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Narcavage, PPL\u2019s regional affairs director for Northeastern Pennsylvania, noted PPL currently has\u00a0more than 1,000 personnel working to bring power back as safely and as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Narcavage added the scope of the outages differs throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have ones and twos, we have hundreds, and there are some areas that have thousands,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the areas with the largest current outages include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1,376 customers from Whites Crossing to Aldenville, spanning Lackawanna and Wayne counties. Crews estimate power should be restored by 2 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1,068 customers in the area of Tremont and Newtown in Schuylkill County. Crews estimate power should be restored to the area by 11 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 890 customers in the Ransom Twp. area of Lackawanna County.
