{"id":236392,"date":"2026-07-06T02:47:17","date_gmt":"2026-07-06T02:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/236392\/"},"modified":"2026-07-06T02:47:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T02:47:17","slug":"man-stabbed-on-bethlehem-greenway-2-detained-by-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/236392\/","title":{"rendered":"Man stabbed on Bethlehem Greenway; 2 detained by police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7A5DPHDN3BDOJJT2HZL4EGU3UU\">A 33-year-old man was stabbed twice Sunday evening along the Greenway in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lehighvalleylive.com\/topic\/bethlehem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lehighvalleylive.com\/topic\/bethlehem\/\">Bethlehem, <\/a>city police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6MYSOCK5ZFC5HMBHMZCYFYGTXU\">Police Captain William Audelo said city officers responded just after 4:45 p.m. to an area behind the 200 block of East Fourth Street. Investigators found the victim suffering from stab wounds, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"RMGFTATZFZAIDF4AIGT7F7XZOI\">He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, Audelo said Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"OVW6HOEWIJERDDRHXO5YA6UI6I\">Police later found a man and woman believed to have been involved in the incident and detained them. The suspected weapon also was recovered, Audelo said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"66X27SP54ZGJBKDFHEDWXP7XYY\">The man and woman fully cooperated in the investigation and were released. All parties involved have ties to Bethlehem and knew each other prior to the alleged stabbing, Audelo said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"PGHG624ROJD5FHRHVFHSAPGQCU\">\u201cDetectives do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QU5MWWN4LFARNJA45COOEXGXNU\">The Northampton County District Attorney\u2019s Office and Bethlehem police continue to investigate the incident and witnesses are being sought.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"A6QUQBRLEREEJEOLAOU62V3G6U\">Those with information are asked to call the Bethlehem Police Department\u2019s Criminal Investigation Division at 610-865-7162.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A 33-year-old man was stabbed twice Sunday evening along the Greenway in Bethlehem, city police said.
