THIS IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE OPENING UP AT 10:00 TODAY FOR FOR VISITORS WHO ARE HOPING TO SEE BIG BOY TO ACTUALLY COME IN AND DO A WALK THROUGH OF THIS TRAIN DEPOT. WHILE THE TRAIN IS GOING TO BE IN TOWN LATER TODAY. NOW, WITH ALL THAT HISTORY. I\u2019M HERE WITH SHANE KEENAN. HE\u2019S WITH THE LEBANON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY. SHANE, A LOT OF HISTORY GOING INTO TODAY\u2019S EVENT. CAN YOU TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THIS BUILDING RIGHT BEHIND US WHEN IT COMES TO THAT? SURE. SO THIS STATION WAS BUILT IN 1900 FOR THE PHILADELPHIA AND READING RAILROAD, AND IT WAS BUILT TO REPLACE AN EARLIER BUILDING BUILT IN 1856 FOR THE LEBANON VALLEY RAILROAD, WAS DESIGNED BY WILSON BROTHERS AND COMPANY OF PHILADELPHIA. PRETTY PRESTIGIOUS ARCHITECTURAL FIRM THAT HAD ALSO DESIGNED THE TRAIN SHED TO THE TERMINAL STATION IN PHILADELPHIA FOR THE READING. SO A LOT GETTING JUST EXPLORED, EVEN JUST WITH THIS ONE BUILDING RIGHT HERE. BUT AS WE\u2019VE SEEN FROM SOME OF THE EARLIER VIDEOS OF BIG BOY MAKING ITS WAY THROUGH THE U.S., A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE EXCITED TO SEE THIS COME THROUGH. WHY DOES THIS DRAW SUCH A CROWD? FOR ONE THING, JUST BEING THE BIGGEST OPERATIONAL STEAM LOCOMOTIVE. PEOPLE LIKE EVEN IF THEY\u2019RE NOT INTO TRAINS, THEY OFTEN LIKE STEAM LOCOMOTIVES TO BEGIN WITH. SO SEEING THE BIGGEST ONE, ESPECIALLY THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME AN OPERATIONAL ONE LIKE THE 4014 HAS COME EAST TO BE ABLE TO SEE IT IN THESE AREAS. SO VERY COOL OPPORTUNITY WHEN IT COMES TO THAT.
