It’s officially MLB<\/a> All-Star week. America’s 250th Birthday couldn’t be any more exciting. The World Cup has been bringing celebrations to every corner of the nation, and now the birthplace of the USA is set to host MLB’s signature event. Here’s a quick overview of everything going on over the next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When: Friday July 10, gates open at 5:00 p.m. ET, Game begins at 7:00 p.m. ET
Where: Citizens Bank Park
How: MLB Network & MLB.com<\/p>\n

If you’re looking to dive into a notepad and embark on a journey to find the next Cristopher Sanchez<\/a>, the HBCU Swingman Classic is a must-see. Founded by MLB legend Ken Griffey Jr., this yearly event has become a perfect opportunity for student athletes from Historically Black Colleges & Universities to showcase their talent in front of MLB scouts and adorning fans.<\/p>\n

When: July 11-14
Where: Pennsylvania Convention Center<\/p>\n

If you don’t have tickets to the All-Star game, don’t fret! The Capital One All-Star Village will bring fans close to the heart of the action, with plenty of festivities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On top of the prizes, great food and competitions, fans will have a chance to get up close and personal with Phillies legends. Players like Steve Calrton, Manny Trillo, John Kruk, Larry Bowa, and Greg ‘The Bull’ Luzinski, will all be in attendance. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll get to rub shoulders with some of the stars from the 2008 World Series-winning team, including both Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins, who will be recording a live poscast episode of ‘The 6-1-1’ at the All-Star Village.<\/p>\n
