Erie is celebrating disability awareness, inclusion, and advocacy with its first-ever Disability Pride event today in Perry Square. The event began at 10 a.m. and will continue until 2 p.m.<\/p>\n
The event is being organized by Voices for Independence and Disability Pride Pennsylvania and is designed to highlight disability culture while promoting accessibility, empowerment, and community engagement.<\/p>\n
Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the event, including live entertainment, guest speakers, community resource organizations, and educational opportunities focused on supporting individuals with disabilities.<\/p>\n
Among those scheduled to speak is Erie Mayor Daria Devlin, who will join advocates and community leaders in recognizing the contributions and experiences of people with disabilities.<\/p>\n
The event aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment while raising awareness about the importance of equal access, independence, and belonging for all members of the community.<\/p>\n
