READING, Pa. – A Reading man is facing charges after authorities say they seized multiple pounds of methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and more than $10,000 in cash.<\/p>\n
Kyle Lamar Lane, 33, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the Berks County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.<\/p>\n
Investigators obtained judicial authorization Monday to search the second- and third-floor apartments at South 5th Street, as well as for the person of Lane and associated electronic devices, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office said authorities seized multiple pounds of methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and U.S. currency believed to be the proceeds from illegal sales.<\/p>\n
While conducting surveillance Monday, investigators saw Lane leave the residence and walk into the 500 block of Bingaman Street, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

Lane tried to run away when officers approached him and discarded a cell phone and one pound of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office said the estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine is approximately $54,000.<\/p>\n
Lane was taken to the Berks County Sheriff’s Office Central Processing Center, where he was formally charged and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Priscilla Campos, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Bail was set at $200,000.<\/p>\n
