This is a part of their recovery journey coming to places like this where they can get support, where they can have groups,” said Jones.

“So the support from the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs helps us extend our reach throughout the community so we can provide our services to more and more people, to make those connections, really one connection at a time,” said Frank Bolock. “It offsets our operating expenses, helps us with marketing, and helps us with outreach.”

Bolock is the executive director of the Recovery Bank and serves as the president and CEO of Treatment Court Advocacy Center.

He’s also in long-term recovery and knows the impact the staff here at the Recovery Bank has on individuals battling addiction.

“We kind of pick up where treatment centers end off,” said Bolock. “They get people stopped, and what we try to do is, by example and by connecting people with resources, help them go forward toward sustained recovery.”

Jeff Brown struggled with alcohol addiction before getting help.

Now, he works at the Recovery Bank as a Certified Recovery Specialist and Veteran Project Director.

“I did when I came out of the service, but lost my purpose, which so many veterans do. Recovery gives you your purpose back. I get the opportunity every day of my life to serve, to give back, to help people,” said Brown.

An act of service made possible through funding and the right team of people willing to make a difference.

A $112K boost aims to bolster services at The Recovery Bank to support sustained recovery for those battling…

[15
178,180,179
post-237889","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-scranton","tag-scranton","tag-scranton-headlines","tag-scranton-news
["GET
