Blobfest returns to the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville Friday through Sunday. The event celebrates the 1958 cult classic \u201cThe Blob,\u201d which features a famous scene filmed at the theater. For details, see thecolonialtheatre.com\/blobfest\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Berks Summer Fest<\/p>\n

Berks Arts, in partnership with the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, will present the fourth annual Berks Summer Fest Saturday at the GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St., Reading. The free event will feature music, children\u2019s activities and local arts experiences. Festivities start at 11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

The open-air Thorn Alley Stage will feature performances by Bennie Sims and The Groovemasters, the Dexter Sales Quartet, Caya Sol Reggae Band and Flamin\u2019 Dick & The Hot Rods.<\/p>\n

Berks County Fair<\/p>\n

The Berks County Fair runs through Saturday at the fairgrounds in Bern Township. Activities include music, carnival rides, Pennsylvania Dutch food, agricultural exhibits, rodeo and demolition derby.<\/p>\n

Book Bonanza

The Berks Book Bonanza runs through Sunday at 400 E. Wyomissing Ave. in Mohnton. The event features used hardcover and paperbacks, CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games at prices of $2 or less for general items. They also offer specialty materials and collectible books.<\/p>\n

Photo exhibit<\/p>\n

The exhibit \u201cThrough Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railroad\u201d runs through Aug. 11 at the Reading Public Museum (readingpublicmuseum.org<\/a>). This exhibition features photographs, ephemera, and narratives that tell the story of the Underground Railroad.<\/p>\n

Blues show<\/p>\n

Jamey\u2019s House of Music is set to welcome a performance by New Jersey-based bluesman James \u201cJB\u201d Barnes with JB & the JB Blues Band, on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
