Jonathan Ricardo Salinas-Vasquez, 25,\u00a0 an Ecuadorian national living in Lansdowne, who ICE claims is in the United States illegally, was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Upper Darby on Monday, July 6, while he was scheduled to appear for a court hearing.<\/p>\n
Salinas-Vasquez had been arrested despite an immigration detainer previously being lodged against him, in a social media post issued Tuesday, July 7, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia office said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He had been released from Delaware County Prison on Feb. 2, 2026, after his arrest on aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, conspiracy, harassment, and evading arrest charges.<\/p>\n
The charges stem Froma Nov. 2025 fight outside a business on Market Street in Upper Darby.<\/p>\n
Upper Darby Officer Erica Bellino, officers responded around 8:30 p.m. for reports of a fight inside the business, according to police. When police arrived, they found a group fighting outside and ordered everyone to stop, but three men allegedly fled on foot along Market Street and Powell Lane before they were captured.<\/p>\n
The victim suffered a laceration to his torso and a deep cut to his jaw, investigators said. Through an interpreter, the victim told police he had been struck in the head with a beer bottle during the assault. He was taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n
Salinas-Vasquez, of Lansdowne, was charged along with Jose Gaviria-Sanchez, 26, of Philadelphia, and Paul Urina-Sanchez, 24, of Upper Darby.<\/p>\n
All three were charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault, harassment, and evading arrest or detention.<\/p>\n
Court records show Salinas-Vasquez was initially held on 10 percent of $100,000 bail before being released from the Delaware County jail after his bail was modified to unsecured bail in February.<\/p>\n
The cases against Gaviria-Sanchez and Urina-Sanchez were held for Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.<\/p>\n
Salinas-Vasquez remains in ICE custody.<\/p>\n
