According to a Facebook announcement from the Lake City Fire Department, the U.S. Coast Guard is actively searching Lake Erie for a missing boat after losing contact with its operator Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
Authorities are asking boaters and anyone on the lake to be on the lookout for a black 19-foot Spectrum boat bearing Pennsylvania registration PA 231 AU.<\/p>\n
According to information released by local authorities, the vessel was launched from East Avenue Boat Launch Wednesday evening. The last known contact with the individual on board occurred between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
The boat had one person on board at the time of its disappearance.<\/p>\n
The Coast Guard has launched a search operation and is urging anyone who spots the vessel or has information about its whereabouts to immediately contact the U.S. Coast Guard at (814) 434-3648.<\/p>\n
Boaters on Lake Erie are encouraged to remain alert and report any sightings of the black Spectrum boat, registration PA 231 AU, to assist search crews in their efforts.<\/p>\n
