READING, Pa. – A man is dead after a shooting in Reading.<\/p>\n
It happened early Friday morning inside a home on one of the city’s busiest streets.<\/p>\n
Officers from the Reading Police Department were sent\u00a0to the 500 block of Lancaster Avenue around 2 a.m. for a report of a shooting, city police said in a news release.<\/p>\n
During the preliminary investigation, officers determined that a man broke into a home, and during the incident both men were injured, one of them fatally, police said.<\/p>\n
City police said the incident is not believed to be a random act of violence.<\/p>\n
RPD officers and crime scene technicians remained on the scene into the daylight hours. They spent the time processing and removing evidence and speaking with people in the area.<\/p>\n
City police say no arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate.<\/p>\n
