Downtown Erie is welcoming a new taproom tonight.<\/p>\n
Twisted Elk Brewery has officially opened its Twisted Elk Outpost at 2200 Peach Street, expanding its Lake City operation into the heart of Erie\u2019s east side.<\/p>\n
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday afternoon to celebrate the new location and its role in bringing more foot traffic to downtown. The outpost features rotating craft beers, all brewed at the brewery\u2019s Lake City facility.<\/p>\n
The owners say they chose the Peach Street location to connect with the growing energy in the area and to help support other small businesses downtown.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like it is, especially for small businesses. It\u2019s tough to run a small business, so it\u2019s very nice to get support from local businesses. We try to support each other and things like that,\u201d Brad Nuse the owner said.<\/p>\n
The opening also coincides with Boutique Nights, a free shopping and art experience that kicked off on State Street Friday evening.<\/p>\n
