(WHTM) \u2013 Officials in one Pennsylvania city responded to more than 80 incidents involving illegal fireworks and seized dozens of prohibited items during the July 4 holiday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The City of Reading says the police department conducted a dedicated enforcement detail focused on illegal fireworks. City ordinance prohibits the use of all fireworks, except for permitted public displays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a data-ylk=\"slk:Close;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"#sailthru-signup-widget\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Close<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Thanks for signing up!<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Watch for us in your inbox.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Subscribe Now<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">SIGN UP NOW<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Officers responded to 69 incidents and seized &#8220;a significant quantity of prohibited items.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The list of items includes approximately 40 bottle rockets and Roman candles, 60 prepackaged fireworks display boxes, 25 pounds of 3-inch mortar shells, 5 pounds of 2-inch mortar shells, and 2 pounds of linked firecrackers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Reading Fire Department responded to 12 fireworks-related calls, including a &#8220;significant incident&#8221; where a firework was being fired at a vacant building.
