COMMUNITY News:<\/p>\n

Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a week-long Day Camp for youth Aug. 3 through Aug. 7. \u201cDesigned for children entering Pre-K through 5th grade (in the fall), this camp is a joyful and faith-filled experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Youth entering 6th grade are invited to participate as junior counselors.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s camp theme is \u201cHands Wide Open\u201d \u2013 a fun play on emotions and how to deal with them, with a spiritual twist. Campers will explore Christian principles rooted in Scripture as they explore how life and faith are bundled together.<\/p>\n

Camp Schedule & Cost:<\/p>\n

Monday\u2013Thursday: 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (drop off starting at 8:30 a.m. & pickup at 1:30 p.m.);
\n Friday Celebration: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Families are invited to join for breakfast burritos to celebrate the week together; and
\n Cost: $50 for the first child; $25 for each additional sibling.
\n(Cost includes all supplies and daily snacks. Campers should bring a sack lunch Monday\u2013Thursday).<\/p>\n

Bethlehem partners with Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp (Colorado-based) to make this camp possible. Trained young adult counselors bring energy, joy, and a deep love for God and children.<\/p>\n

What Happens at Day Camp?<\/p>\n

Campers enjoy a variety of activities including:
\n Bible Study & Worship (as appropriate for the child\u2019s age group);
\n Arts & Crafts;
\n Singing & Games;
\n Fellowship & Nature Exploration; and
\n Theme days: Water Day, Silly Olympics, and Science Day.<\/p>\n

\n2390 North Road (next to Mountain Elementary School)
\nSome activities may take place off-site at nearby parks.<\/p>\n

Who Leads the Camp?<\/p>\n

A team of trained Rainbow Trail counselors and volunteers from the congregation lead the program.
\nAll counselors are Christian young adults (age 19+) trained in faith development, recreation, first aid, and leadership, under the supervision of an experienced director.<\/p>\n

Who Can Attend?<\/p>\n

Day Camp is open to all youth entering Pre-K (age 4) through 5th grade.
\n6th Graders may register as junior counselors.
\nNo church membership is required.
\nScholarships are available for families with financial need.<\/p>\n
