(WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 State police released the results of their 2026 July 4th holiday checkpoint enforcement that resulted in over 300 DUI arrests.<\/p>\n
The Pennsylvania State Police reported they investigated 635\u00a0vehicle crashes during the holiday weekend from July 3 to 5.<\/p>\n
Police say six people died and 128 injuries occurred in the crashes, while 55 non-fatal crashes involved a driver under the influence. Troopers arrested 303 people for driving under the influence.<\/p>\n
State police also issued 4,043 speeding citations, 541 for failing to wear a seat belt, and 97 for not securing children in safety seats.<\/p>\n
