EASTON, Pa. — Easton Heritage Day is here! The festival is all about celebrating American history.<\/p>\n
The event is bringing live music, food, and a walking history lesson to the city’s downtown.<\/p>\n
“This is our eighth time here, we love it absolutely this is what we do, this is what we do,” said Greg Harris, Civil War reenactor, USCT 3rd Regiment Infantry.<\/p>\n
“Nobody knows that there was 180,000 union colored troops that fought in the civil war,” Harris said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Also in attendance, 18th U.S. President and union general Ulysses S. Grant.<\/p>\n
“I’m here to celebrate America,” the impersonator said. “Celebrating lesser known aspects cause everybody knows the big points.”<\/p>\n
“I think its really cool,” said Sanai Tonwsend of Houston, Texas. “Because all of like these people, the people that served in the Civil War and all of the cool people here and all of the stuff here.”<\/p>\n
“I think that it’s really nice and really great and I’m glad that it’s here today,” said Yona Hunter of Forks Township.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This weekend, there’s no better spot to celebrate the United States than in Easton, one of three places where the Declaration of Independence was read 250 years ago.<\/p>\n
