BERLINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. \u2013 An individual has been found floating in Lake Erie.<\/p>\n
Monroe County say they received 911 dispatch at around 8:30 p.m. on July 11 reporting what appeared to be a body floating in the water near, about 15 feet from shore.<\/p>\n
According to authorities the caller was a boater in the area of the Pointe Mouillee State Game area near the Banana Dikes.<\/p>\n
Authorities say deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the Berlin Township Fire Department, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources responded to the area in Berlin Township. <\/p>\n
Due to the location of the body, Police say Monroe County Marine Division and Dive Team were activated.<\/p>\n
The teams say the individual was recovered from approximately 3 to 4 feet of water.<\/p>\n
Police say, the individual was transported to the Lucas County Coroner\u2019s Office for identification and an autopsy.<\/p>\n
According to authorities the individual has not yet been identified. <\/p>\n
This investigation remains ongoing. <\/p>\n
