That would be lower than the $53.3 billion budget proposal Gov. Josh Shapiro put forward, but higher than last year&#8217;s $50.1 billion spending plan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Under the bill, public education would receive an additional $980 million in funding. Lower-income schools would receive $125 million through a new Ready-to-Learn block grant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The legislation also includes a total $126 million increase for public workers, including cost-of-living adjustments.
