HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) \u2014 Pennsylvania State Police released firearm denial statistics from the second quarter of 2026, including 18 people arrested at the point of purchase.<\/p>\n
According to state police, 18 people who attempted to purchase a firearm were found to have active warrants, leading to their arrest. Another 3,833 people were denied purchasing a firearm, and 905 of those were referred to either the state police, municipal law enforcement, or the ATF.<\/p>\n

When a person tries to provide false information during the Pennsylvania Instant Check System process, an investigation is started, and the referral is sent to the proper law enforcement agency.<\/p>\n
Pennsylvania law states that a person commits a felony of the third degree if they make false statements on any federal or state agency form or willfully give false identification to deceive the seller, licensed dealer or licensed manufacturer.<\/p>\n
