announced the sale of the pub at 320 E. First St. in Bethlehem, marking the end for brothers John and Vincent Caricari as owners.

John, who took over the pub with his brother in 2018, told The Morning Call they sold the business to spend more time with family as well as focus on their Bethlehem restaurant Feasta Italiana.

“It’s bittersweet,” he said. “We like that we’re going to have less on our plate and we have more focus on our other location. But in other ways, you look back on what you built and it’s a little sad that you’ve got to leave it.”

Brian Fanning, who works in the healthcare industry, said he would become the new co-owner alongside the new majority owner Phil Natosi, who owns 1836 Saloon & Grille in Smithfield Township, Monroe County.

“The Steel Pub has a great … history and success as a live music venue in the valley, and we’re going to continue to promote that,” Fanning said. “We’re not looking to really make any significant changes right off the bat, right? … The foundation that John and [Vincent] have built with The Steel Pub is fantastic. We want to take that tradition, that legacy from them, and continue that on, and continue to focus on good food, good service and good entertainment.”
