Travelers looking to speed up the Global Entry enrollment process will have a rare opportunity next month at the Erie International Airport.<\/p>\n
While receiving Global Entry approval can take four to six months, one of the final steps is completing an in-person interview. From August 11 until August 13, travelers will be able to complete that requirement during a special three-day Global Entry Interview Event.<\/p>\n
Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program designed to make international travel easier for pre-approved, low-risk travelers. Members can move through U.S. Customs more quickly when returning to the United States from abroad, helping reduce wait times at airports.<\/p>\n
The enrollment process begins with submitting an online application. Applicants then undergo a federal background check before receiving an invitation to schedule an in-person interview. Depending on demand, that step alone can take weeks or even months.<\/p>\n
To participate in the interview event, applicants must have their Global Entry application completed and all required documents submitted before they can be interviewed and fingerprinted.<\/p>\n
