The AHN Cancer Institute (AHNCI) at AHN Saint Vincent Hospital welcomed cancer patients and their families to its annual Patient Celebration Day on July 10 at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center at Presque Isle, offering a day of fun, support and recognition for those impacted by cancer.<\/p>\n
Created specifically for AHN Cancer Institute patients, the event featured a variety of family-friendly activities, including green screen movies, a DJ, basket raffles, temporary tattoos, face painting, balloon art, food trucks, snacks and treats. Registered patients and one caregiver also received a complimentary boxed meal from Cali\u2019s West.<\/p>\n
The celebration has continued to grow since its debut. The inaugural event in 2024 attracted approximately 230 patients and family members. Attendance nearly doubled last year, with more than 450 participants, and organizers expected an even larger turnout this year.<\/p>\n
The event was open to all individuals who have received a cancer diagnosis or are currently undergoing treatment, regardless of the type or stage of cancer.<\/p>\n
